Closed-end Baron Pen Mandrel

BCEPM-1This mandrel was developed to help facilitate the creation of closed-end Baron pens. Everything needed is contained into one unit so that there are no parts that can become lost with normal use. A three jawed chuck, Jacobs chuck or similar tool is required to support this mandrel.To use: Slip the pen blank with brass tube already installed over the expanding shaft up to the bushing. Using a 3/8" open end wrench in the tightening flats, tighten the nut with a 7/16" wrench just enough to keep the blank/tube from rotating. Insert the entire unit into your chuck, tighten the chuck and turn away. You may use your tailstock for additional support.
